So far today the winds of Storm Dennis have not been too strong. A lot of water has already fallen and many of the surrounding area brooks and streams have already broken their banks and, are causing some road flooding.
The top of the main field is now well and truly waterlogged, it hasn’t had sufficient time to dry from last weeks storm yet so, all the water that comes down this weekend will just sit on the surface with no where to go as the soil is mainly clay based.
As you can see we have opened up the menage for the horses to give them a relatively dry area for standing so that they are not permanently standing in 6″ of wet mud which, could easily lead to any of them getting mud fever.
The rain throughout today has been more persistent than heavy outbursts but, it all builds levels in the local rivers etc.
